Bear Necessities Nursery is a full day care setting providing quality care for children aged three months to five years. We provide natural balances of life experiences and equal opportunities at each stage of a child’s growth and development. We aim to create a positive environment in which every child is included, valued and given opportunities to develop their full potential.
We strongly believe that every child is unique. We provide a variety of resources, experiences, events and activities to meet the individual needs, skills and interests of each child in our care. We recognise that every child learns and develops in different ways and at different times. Through regular observations, we will assess each child’s stage of development, interests and needs and implement next steps through planning to help each child reach their full potential. Practitioners will plan adult focused, adult initiated and child initiated play and are guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Each child is allocated a key person within their room, this is to encourage a strong attachment and to support the child’s care and development needs within the setting. The practitioner will work in partnership with parents, sharing relevant information. Sharing of information and good planning is key to making children’s learning effective, varied, exciting and progressive.
We strongly believe in outdoor play being a vital part of young children’s health and well-being. Periods of outdoor play and free flow play are continuously offered throughout the day for all the children.
Bear Necessities provides a warm, caring and secure environment for our children, making the transition between the home and school life as easy as possible for all the family. We provide a place that allows the children to feel valued, confident and well motivated. We believe this happy experience forms a sound basis of future learning and development.
All staff at Bear Necessities work closely as a strong family team. We work together to reflect and evaluate our daily practice in order to modify approaches and adapt practice if benefits and improvements are identified.
