Bear Necessities Nursery recognises the importance of the early years for children and how rapidly they grow, develop and learn throughout this period of these lives. Our committed, enthusiastic and highly qualified team prioritise providing every child with equal opportunities, high quality early years education and the support for the children to be able to build a strong foundation for life. The early year’s professionals are dedicated to supporting young children to become lifelong learners through celebrating and promoting individual talents and abilities. Staff creatively plan to each child’s individual age and capabilities using the curriculum/characteristics of learning to offer enhanced and open-ended experiences and opportunities to all. Through a variety of planned and spontaneous activities and experiences, the early year’s professionals encourage and reward the child’s willingness to try, through questioning of their own knowledge and showing pride in their own achievements.

We see the learning environment as an essential part of offering every child in our care opportunities to safely develop in confidence, providing children with a sense of security and be fully prepared for school and life outside of the nursery; giving them the essential knowledge that they need to prepare for their future successes. Continuous opportunities of mutual respect, confidence and healthy lifestyles and well-being are also components of our effective care offered at Bear Necessities Nursery. This is provided through meaningful and enriching learning experiences about the healthy body (healthy eating, healthy minds and oral health), spacious inside and outside environments, and physical exercise.

Bear Necessities strives to offer a warm and nurturing environment, through strong parent partnerships, offering of a home from home atmosphere by working consistently together to share our lifetime love for learning. We provide positive and respectful two-way communication through an effective key person system and open-door policy.

The strong leadership and management team regularly self-evaluate and regulate the effectiveness of the provision, making continuous improvements as necessary. Ongoing reflective practices are promoted and to ensure high quality of care and education.

Together, we can all impact life-long benefits on the children and support everyone to feel welcomed, valued and accepted.
